Will set up special commission to handle NRIs legal cases in Kerala, says NRI Minister

Online facility will be arranged for NRIs to renew their ration card in India, said Sri KC Joseph, Minister for Non-Resident Keralites Affairs at Government of Kerala. He was speaking to the community leaders here in Kuwait during his short visit to Kuwait.

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sunil Jain, Indian Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Subhashish Goldar, Kerala Government NRI Welfare Board directors Varghese Puthukulangara and Sharafudeen Kanneth were also present with the minister during the meet.




Various issues and challenges faced by the NRIs were discussed with the ministers. Government will appoint a special commission under the home ministry to handle the legal cases of NRIs, Kerala minister said. Ministry will also increase the age limit to join the Pravasi pension scheme from 55 to 60 years, minister said while speaking on the occasion.

The increasing scam in the name of nursing recruitment will be considered with high priority, minister said. With the assistance of Indian Embassy, NRI Affairs department is considering all the possible options in this regard, minister said.
