New parking system introduced at Kuwait airport

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

A new system aimed at improving car park operations and providing customers with smoother and faster parking services, even during peak hours, was implemented at Kuwait International Airport car parking by United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC).

According to Arab Times report, the new system will utilize modern technology measures such as the use of automated pre pay systems as well as license plate recognition technology, which are expected to further enhance the flow of traffic and provide the traveller with a more efficient and stress free travel experience. Frequent users of the car park can also opt for a subscription option which will allow them to enter and exit the facility using auto pay stations, without stopping to pay.

"We hope that this will improve traffic flow and hence the overall efficiency of operation at Kuwait International Airport. We ask all airport parking users for their cooperation and patience during this time of transition,” Nadia Akil, CEO of UPAC quoted as saying.

UPAC manages over 24,000 square meters of commercial space at Kuwait International Airport, Sheikh Saad Terminal and other locations within Kuwait. The transition to the new system has already taken place and to date, six entrance and seven exit units have been installed as per the planned implementation phase. All parking gates are expected to be completed and fully operational by January 2015.
