‘OSN Cricket Cup’ concludes in style’ Future Stars Clinch coveted trophy

Kuwait Cricket’s premium domestic cricket tournament, OSN Cup, concluded successfully with Future Star Cricket Club team easily defeating Emerging Stars Cricket Club in the final match played at Sulabiyia Cricket Ground.

Kuwait Cricket is an Associate member of International Cricket Council (ICC) and full member of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and is the sole and epic cricket organization in the country affiliated to Kuwait

Olympic Committee.

OSN, the region’s leading pay-TV network and the home of premium cricket, has teamed up with the Kuwait Cricket to launch the first ‘OSN Cricket Cup, finished in style when star studded Future star defeated Emerging Stars.Promoting cricketing talent in Kuwait, ‘OSN Cricket Cup’ have seen 32 local teams battle it out over 48 league matches at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground in Kuwait. The ‘round robin league’ of one day internationals was played in Twenty20 format every Friday.

Emerging Stars CC batting first 103 all out in 19.4 overs. Kamran Anwar 28 runs off 36 balls with a boundary and 2 sixes. Amanullah Palekar and Jassim 16 runs each. For Future Stars CC Mizan Ali was most successful bowler and picked 5 wickets costing just 21 runs in 3.4 overs. Abdullah Khan also bowled well to take 2 wickets for 14 runs.

Future Stars CC needing only 104 to win raced to victory in just 8.4 overs losing only one wicket in the process. The openers, Naeem Chaudhry and Irfan Mughal posted 102 runs for first wicket, when later was caught off the bowling of Nadeem having scored 46 runs. Irfan’s knock came of only 19 deliveries
and included 5 sixes and 2 boundaries. Naeem Chaudhry remained unbeaten with 49 runs, coming off 24 balls aided with 2 mighty sixes and 8 sweetly timed boundaries. The match was officiated by senior umpires John Salomon and Zahid Usman.

The prize distribution ceremony was patronized by Amal Rhali OSN Country Sales Director, Faisal Al-Shemmeri, OSN Direct Sales Team Manager, Ahmed Saleh, OSN Direct Sales Manager, Director General Kuwait Cricket Asad Baig and the members of Kuwait Cricket Executive Council, Mohammed Arif Butt President Pakistan Business council, Mahmoud Ayoub General Manager TCS, Mahmoiud Bastaki the Kuwait National team captain in Asian Games, Choudhry Mohammed Sarwar, GS, KOC Cricket committee and large number of followers of the game.
