Swaranjali – A Musical Dream of ICSK

November 29th, 2014 saw a long cherished dream of the Indian Community School Kuwait turn into reality – the blooming of ‘Swaranjali’-the ICSK musical band. ‘Swaranjali’ was officially inaugurated at the ICSK auditorium by Dr. Ahmad Abotaiban, Chairman of faculty of anesthesia at Kuwait institute of medical specialization, Consultant of anesthesia and chronic pain management, Al Amiri Hospital, Kuwait and Head of anesthesia department at Kuwait Cancer Care Centre. Mr. Mubarak Al Rashid, a well- known playback singer, nicknamed ‘Kishore Kumar‘ of Kuwait mesmerized the audience with popular Hindi melodies. Dr. Krishna Galhotra, Chief consultant of anesthesia department & ICU at Al Amiri hospital also graced the occasion. Honorary Vice-Chairman of the ICSK Board of Trustees Mr. Bobby Mathew, Honorary Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil, honorary Joint-Secretary Mr. George Mathew, AISES Members, Parent Advisory Council members, Principals and Vice-Principals of all the branches, staff, parents and students were present for the grand inauguration.

A warm and hearty welcome speech was delivered by Principal of ICSK Senior Dr. V. Binumon which was followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an inaugural speech by the Chief Guest. As a token of love and appreciation, ICSK presented the Chief Guest with a beautiful portrait painted by an ICSK student.
What followed was a musical extravaganza by ‘Swaranjali’ band comprising talented singers, orchestra members and chorus, marvelously anchored by Master Vishnuduttan Suresh and Miss Rushali Mahesh of ICSK Senior. A colorful plethora of songs entertained the huge audience of music lovers reminding the audience of the famous quote of William Shakespeare – ‘If music be the food of love, then play on’. The entire team of Swaranjali was honored with a token of recognition and encouragement by the Honorary Vice-Chairman Mr. Bobby Mathew and Honorary Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil. To conclude the evening, Mr. M.U.Mathew, the music club coordinator of ICSK and the godfather of ‘Swaranjali’ expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire ICSK family. The musical nite marked its end with the ‘morning song of India’- the Indian national anthem.
