Kuwait Airways has agreed to buy 10 Boeing jetliners, B777-300ERs, the company's Chairperson and CEO Rasha Al-Roumi said on Thursday.

This paves the way for signing the contract of the deal, part of the efforts to upgrade the national airline fleet, Al-Roumi told KUNA on Thursday.
Kuwait Airways accepted the Boeing offer after the company obtained official approvals, following bilateral negotiations that led to the best deal regarding the airliner's legal, operational and financial requirements.

According to the deal, delivery will start as of November 2016, Al-Roumi said, noting that the 10 widebody planes will help cover the company's current and future routes, especially long-haul flights.
Last February, Kuwait Airways concluded a deal to purchase 25 planes, Airbus A320-neos and A350s, in addition to hiring other 12.
