St. Peter’s Knanaya Church Celebrated ‘Harvest Festival 2014’ and Inaugurated The 10th Anniversary Celebrations.

Kuwait St. Peter’s Knanaya Church celebrated ‘Harvest Festival 2014’ and inaugurated its 10th anniversary celebrations with an array of spiritual and cultural programs on 13 and 14 November, 2014. The historic event began with the Eucharistic celebration led by H.G. Mor Gregorios Kuriakose, Metropolitan of the Malankara Syrian Knanaya Arch Diocese, in presence of Rev. Fr. C. Kurian and Rev. Fr. N. C. Mathew, on Thursday, 13th November 2014, at 6.30 pm in NECK. Following the Eucharist, His Grace inaugurated the unit of Knanaya Congress in the church and awarded certificates of merits to the Sunday School students.





Day-long celebration of the Harvest Festival took place in vibrant attire, on Friday 14 November, 2014, with a variety of cultural and entertainment programs at the Indian Central School premises, Abbassiya. The event was formally inaugurated by H.G. Mor Gregorios Kuriakose Metropolitan, amidst a public meeting presided by the vicar Rev. Fr. N. C. Mathew; in a packed crowd of well wishers and the faithful of the church. Mr. Jacob Mathew, Secretary; extended a cordial welcome and the Mr. Saji Punnoose, Trustee; extended the vote of thanks. The auspicious occasion was blessed with the presence of Pastor Rev. Ammanuel Ghareeb, President-NECK, Fr. C. Kurian, former vicar, and the vicars of the sister parishes. Dignitaries on the dais also included Mr. K. P. Koshy, Executive Administrator of NECK, Mr. Roy K Yohannan, Secretaty NECK, who felicitated and commented on the remarkable achievements of the church during the past years. To commemorate the occasion, a multicolored souvenir was released by Pastor Rev. Ammanuel Ghareeb. Ms. Sosamma Abraham, Mr. Milan K. S. and Ms. Mintu Maria Joseph addressed the gathering in capacity of their respective offices. Merit awards of the year were given by the Bishop to Ashley Ann Babu & Mable Biju.




Various cultural and entertainment programs including Punjabi Dance, Classical, Cinematic and Break dances and the famous ‘Chendamelam’were received with loud applause. Musical extravaganza by renowned singers Franco, Kalabhavan Satheesh and Preethy Warrier turned out as the main attraction of the fest. Food stalls organized by the church provided opportunity to experience authentic and delicious traditional christian cuisines to the attendees.
