FOCUS Kuwait Celbrated 8th Anniversary “Focus Fest-2014”

Forum of CAD UserS Kuwait-FOCUS, the fraternity of Indian CADD professional in Kuwait, celebrated its 08th Anniversary, “FOCUS FEST-2014” on Saturday, 25th October at Central School Auditorium, Jaleeb-Al-Shuwaikh. The arts programs started off at 3 PM with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by Jobert John, Arts Convener.

There after Chief Guest H.E. Sunil Jain, Ambassador of India to Kuwait formally inaugurated the Anniversary proceedings, by lighting the Bhadradeepam in a cultural meeting chaired by FOCUS President, Salim Raj, in the presence of Guest of Honor Thomas K. Thomas and other distinguished guests.

In his inaugural address, H.E. Sunil Jain congratulated FOCUS for its CADD training and charity activities and extended his Onam & Anniversary greetings. Focus Fest General Convener M. N. Salim delivered the welcome address to the gathering and FOCUS Treasurer Moncy K. Mathew extended vote of thanks.

During the occasion, FOCUS honored the most respectable social activist Thomas K. Thomas (Hi-Dine Thomachan), reckoning his exceptional contributions and commendable services rendered to the society of Indians in Kuwait.

Hon. Ambassador offered the traditional shawl-Ponnada, and presented the FOCUS Memento of Honor to Thomas K. Thomas. Focus Advisory Board member Shaji Thankachan briefed the profile of John and in return Thomas thanked FOCUS to this gesture of love and affection through his mighty words. FOCUS General Secretary, Anil K.B. presented a brief report on the overall activities, vision and mission of FOCUS Kuwait.

FOCUS also honored its elderly member Abraham Varghese (Sabu Mavelikkara) in appreciation of his valuable contributions depicted to FOCUS and in consideration of prolonged services in Kuwait. Sponsorship Convener K.D. Joshy introduced Abraham Varghese to the audience by briefing service history and family backgrounds. Most reverent Major Sulaiman Jaber Al-Zadi, Police Chief of Abbasiyah has offered him traditional shawl and presented the Focus memento of love and affection.

John Simon-Al Mulla Exchange Co. and Sam Pynumood, Social Activist and former FOCUS Advisory Board Member graced the occasion with their beguine presence and inspiring message.

FOCUS Merit Award-2014 was awarded to the students of FOCUS family, who secured top marks in Class-X, CBSE examinations. ‘Adil Salim’ and ‘ Nisha Shibu Scaria’ bagged the awards for this year. Sam Pynumoodu presented the meritorious certificates and appreciation mementos to the awardees.

The most attractive Souvenir-a keep and sake booklet containing technical information-in co-memo ration of the event was released by Major Sulaiman Jaber Al-Zadi and by John Simon (Al-Mulla Exchange Co.) receiving the first copy from Moh’d Rasheed , Member of Souvenir Committee.

The “Best Focus Unit” award of this year presented by K.D. Joseph, Sirajuddin and Ratheesan and have received by the respective unit leadership consisting Shibu K. Mathew, Manoj Kalabhavan and Mookesh Karayil.

Prior to the cultural meeting various cultural performances like classical and contemporary dances was staged by the talented members of FOCUS . The prime attraction of the day was a comedy show led by famous TV artist Kalabhavn Navas accompanying with Delight Music & Off-Circuit orchestra, Kuwait mezmarized the audience. Chendamelam by Sruthi School of Music, Dance shows by Heart Beats, Speed Shadows and Arabic dance by Fayas and Team enthralled the audience.

Draw of raffle coupons and prize distribution was eminently co-ordinated by Joji V. Alex and team.

Trophies were presented to all the talented children presented the solo/group art feast to the art lovers of Kuwait. Chief Guest and other distinguished guests are received to the dais accompanied with traditional Chenda Melam. Mathew Scaria, Prasannakumar, Thambi Lukose, Simon Baby, Ratheeshkumar, C.O. Koshy, Sheheer, Thomas P. Mathew, Babukutty K. Mathew, Abdul Gafoor Nithin Kumar, Santhiosh Mathew and Bindu Santhosh along with all other Executive Committee members brilliantly co-ordinated the entire event , ever memorable.
