Technical experience and professionalism of expatriate professionals can facilitate the people-centric development of Kerala “said renowned economist and former finance minister of Kerala Dr. Thomas Issac. Dr. Issac was inaugurating the seminar “ Role of professionals in people-centric development “ organized by “Progressive Professional Forum (PPF)”, Kuwait , a collective of professionals working in Kuwait from different walks of life such as Engineers, Doctors, Advocates, Charted Accountants , Business managers, Specialists etc.

Dr. Issac pointed out that Kerala with an average per capita income almost equal to other Indian states attained the development standards nearer to US and other developed countries through people centric development. This development was achieved through the redistribution of assets, income and social provisioning of services. Due to this people centric development process, living standards of keralites improved and their aspirations also got changed. Nowadays In order to meet these aspirations, people centric development models are facing lot of challenges.

The challenges are more complex and need a professional approach to solve. Now for the advancement of people centric development, the contributions from all types of professionals are required. Dr. Issac urged expatriate professionals to contribute for the new models of people centric developments going on in Kerala under the patronage of progressive organizations.
Dr. Issac expressed his hope that the organizations like PPF can contribute a lot for these types of development models.

During the seminar an appreciation message was presented by Dr. Ramiza Anwar to the scientists in ISRO, for their success in Magalyaan project.

PPF President Mr. Vinod A P Nair presided the seminar conducted in Shaik Al Badar Hall, Abuhalifa. The function was felicitated by Mr. Joseph Panicker, Chairman, Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait chapter, Well-known Industrialist Mr. John Mathew, Dr. Roy Francis , President, IDAK, Mr. Anilkumar K, GC Designate, KEF, Mr. Ranjith Pillai, Marketing Manager, UAE Exchange, Mr. J Saji, President, KALA Kuwait . Mr. Anilkumar P N , General Secretary, PPF welcomed the audience and Mr. Rajagopalan Edavalath , Treasurer, PPF delivered the vote of thanks.
