Adoor NRI Forum celebrated 'Adooronam 2014'

Adooronam celebrated with its full fervor by the people of Adoor living in Kuwait. Scores of people from the township of Adoor, gathered in Hi-Dine auditorium, Abbassiya, under the banner of Adoor NRI Forum, Kuwait, in order to celebrate Onam, the Harvest festival and Eid Al Adha. A pot-pourri of cultural programmes by the members and local artists, showcased on the daylong celebration. Members with their families enjoyed the day, a day-full memories will be long cherished.

Classical dance by Adoor Children and also children from different dance schools performed along with cinematic dance, skits etc. The men of Adoor, with their traditional Kerala attire, displayed the Adoor Chundan –Snake boat, which has taken all of them virtually to the homeland. Musical extravaganza lead by local fame Binoy KJ, who is also a native of Adoor supported by Rebecca enthralled audience. Earlier the ‘King Mahabali’ visited the crowd and bless his ‘subjects’. The star attraction of the day was the performance by Kalabhavan Sudhi, who mesmerized the audience with his talent in mimicry.

A public meeting convened earlier, where President Mathews Oommen declared the Adooronam ’14 opened. The traditional lighting the lamp has done by advisory chairman Koshy Mathew Nellimmoottil. The chief guest Sharaffudin Kannethu, who is the President of KMCC and also the member of Director board, NORKA, delivered Onam & Eid message. President of Adoor NRI Forum, Kuwait, Mathews Oommen, chaired the meeting, while General Secretary Sam C Vilanilam welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Bijo P Babu, presented a plan of action for the directory on behalf of directory committee. Vice President Reju Varghese, handed over the first cheque for advertisement to Jacob George Kottavila, the convenor of Directory committee. Shyju Adoor was the Program convenor, who also proved his mastery in anchoring, by anchoring the entire event along with young Jini Saji. Jayan Janardhanan spoke on the occasion, Joint secretary Anu P Rajan delivered vote of Thanks.
