National Forum (NAFO) introduces ‘Mannam Award for Excellence’

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

His Excellency Padmabhushan Mannathu Padmanabhan was one among the legendary visionaries of India who embedded peace, love and harmony among the multi-religious community of Kerala, the well-known God’s own country. It was his benevolent and diligent social allegiance, which laid a strong foundation for the both nationally and internationally cherished robust and indestructible religious and communal concord of Kerala, and of India at large. His truthful, sincere and inspirational slogan ‘in your path of achievements, never hurt or harm your fellow beings of any other faith’ still reverberates in our today’s contemporary vivacious society.

In order to salute, reiterate and commemorate Shri. Mannathu Padmanabhan’s magnanimous social principles and unbiased global visions, National Forum (NAFO-Kuwait) is planning to establish ‘Mannam Award for Excellence’ (MAE) – a proprietary award of NAFO-Kuwait, and is envisioned for the most innovative, passionate and vibrant students of Indian Schools in Kuwait. By the inception of this award, it is aimed to propagate beyond the borders of regions or religions of our motherland, India, the greatness of one of the iconic architects of the modern fraternal, dynamic and heroic civil society.

Awardees will be chosen on the basis of passing one of the most challenging and grueling selection processes to churn out the best of the bests, and they in the future will serve as propellers of the student community and deliver their maxims to the society. This is an initiative in cognizance with the Indian Schools in Kuwait to up-bring and expose the hidden talents in the students from the Ninth (IX) to the Twelfth (XII) grade who are the upfront tomorrows of our nation. A slew of rewards and recognition will be bestowed on the identified gems of the community in this process. This will roll itself to instigate the entire student fraternity to push themselves to the unknown and excel in giving to their society and be a Change Agent in the future!

Award Mission Statement: 1) To serve Mother Earth with a generation of innovative, passionate and vibrant youth who will make the world a better place to live and love, 2) To calibrate and honor the Change Agents of tomorrow, 3) To create an awareness in the student community that they are the major stakeholder in the society in terms of positive change, 4) To create a platform for the youth to exhibit their hidden and inner potential to the world, 5) To enhance the caliber of the Change Agents to promote and empower their fellow members to equally perform and contribute, 6) To reflect on the impeding social issues and societal taboos that pull back the world from its development to the leaders of tomorrow and, 7) To show the world that change needs to be churned at the grass root level.

Further details regarding number and types of awards, application date and procedure, selection criteria, competition norms, venues and dates, etc., will be publically announced through NAFO-Kuwait website, print/electronic media, Indian Associations, and through all Indian Schools in Kuwait.
