Sabha presented "Guru Naadam"

Sabha is an organization aimed at promoting the rich culture and art of India. We also showcase the brilliant talents of India which helps to keep the culture alive in the hearts of people. We had the great privilege of presenting a vocal carnatic concert "Gurunadham" led by the eminent Professor Shri Mavellikara P. Subramanian. He was accompanied on the violin by Shri Thiruvizha G. Ullas , Perunna Shri Harikumar on the mridangam and Shri Ragesh V Ramakrishnan on the ghatom.

Sabha organized Vidyarambham , after the completion of Navratri, where young children were inculcated into the world of education by esteemed educationist Dr Rajesh Nair.

This beautiful musical evening was held at the open courtyard of the Indian Community School, Salmiya (junior ). The traditional lighting of lamp was done by five senior students of music and this was followed by rendition of 'Guruvandanam' by the music students of Kuwait in honor of Shri P Subramanian who has music students residing all over the world.

Shri P. Subramanian captured the hearts of the audience by presenting an amazing evening of music in true conventinal style and he was ably supported by Shri Ullas, Shri Hari Kumar and Shri Ragesh.

The chairman of Sabha Shri Vijayan Karayil addressed the audience by highlighting the connection between musicians and the divine power. Sabha was honored to have the presence of Dr Salman Al Bhaloushi, the director of the Music College, Al Jaber University, Mr Amid Hassan, Head of Department of Computers and also a musician, Dr Asma Al Eid, Head of Department of Music, Dr Alfred Gameel, teacher, department of Music, Al Jaber University, Dr Sahar Malham, and Mr Kannan, Senior Engineer Hestan. They felicitated the artists and Dr Salman mentioned that Indian Music should not be confined to limited audiences and the love and respect Kuwaitis had for Indian music. He added that it would be truly inspiring to fuse the rich cultures of Kuwait and India. He talked about inviting artists from India and conducting Indian music concerts at Al Jaber University.

Ms Lakshmi Suresh and Ms Pushpa Subramanian helped in coordinating the felicitationsof the artists.

Sabha chief coordinator Shri Madhu Nair announced the fifth program on the 12 th December which will showcase fusion of Carnatic and Hindustani music and. Jugalbandi of Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance forms. The program will be held at Indian Community School ( senior ), Salmiya.
