Kuwait St. James Mar Thoma Church organized ‘Harvest Festival 2014’

Kuwait St. James Mar Thoma Church organized its, ‘Harvest Festival 2014’ on Monday, 6th October, 2014 at the National Evangelical Church, Kuwait (NECK) Compound from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Vicar of Kuwait St. James Mar Thoma Church, Rev. V.S. Skariah, presided over the function. Rev. Fr. Immanuel Gareeb, Chairman of NECK Common Council inaugurated the function. Vicars of other sister parishes Rev. Santhosh Philip, Rev. Samji K. Sam, Rev. C.C. Sabu, Rev. Fr. Saju Philip blessed the event by their presence. Mr. K.P. Koshy, Executive Administrator, NECK, Mr. John Thampan, General Convenor of the event, Mr. Sophy John Varkey, Mr. Shaji Simon, Mr. Jose K. George and Mr. Biji Samuel, Parish Secretary, addressed the gathering along with the Vicars of sister parishes. To commemorate the event a multifaceted souvenir was released by Mr. Roy K. Yohannan, Secretary, NECK Common Council by handing over the same to Shri Jose K. George, a senior member of Kuwait St. James Mar Thoma Church. Prayers during the event were led by Rev. Sunil Joy and Rev. Sam T. Koshy.

Various food stalls offering an array of delicious, mouth-watering, homemade culinary delicacies, cakes, pickles, ‘kappa with meen curry’, ‘appam with stew’, ‘poori-bhaji’, ‘nadan sadhya,’ etc. were a few among the highlights of the day. As for other attractions, several games and variety of entertainment programs for all ages were organised. The highlights of the day included various cultural programs organized by various organizations of our Church, which includes songs, dances, skits, games etc., along with a musical presentation “Gurucharanam”, based on the selected songs of Late Sadhu Kochu Kunjupadesi & Sermon on the Mount. ou
