Increasing salary cap for dependence visa need more study.

Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports at the Ministry of Interior Sheikh Mazen Jarrah Al-Sabah confirmed that the ministry is still studying the idea of increasing the minimum wage for expatriates to be eligible to issue dependency visas to family members to KD 400. The current minimum salary is KD 250. "This issue needs more study," he said in the wake of rumors circulating in the media about raising the salary ceiling from 250 to KD 450 for dependent visa. He went on to say any expatriate who earns a salary of KD 250 can still sponsor his immediate family (wife and children).
