Nair Service Society (NSS), Kuwait celebrated Onam celebration “THIRUVONAM 2014” in the traditional style on the Friday, 19th September, 2014 at the Carmel School, Khaitan.

As a part of Thiruvonam 2014 Celebration, Nair Service Society Kuwait hosted OnaSadya. Over 1500 people enjoyed the sumptuous feast with as many as 28 dishes spread out on the traditional plantain leaf. A well executed feast which was scrumptious and an excellent culmination of tradition, style and togetherness of Onam. Mr. Trishur Kannan Swamy (Palada Kanan) & Mr. Trishur Krishnan Swamy, the renowned Master of the Kitchen from Kerala were specially invited from Kerala to organize and supervise this feast.

Members with their families, friends and well - wishers along with many dignitaries constituted the large assemblage during this day. Mr. Santosh Kumar, General Secretary, Nair Service Society Kuwait welcomed the audience and Mr. K P Manikantan, President Nair Service Society Kuwait presided over the meeting.

Thiruvonam 2014 was inaugurated with lighting of the ‘Bhadradeepam’ by the Chief Guest Mr. B K Upadhyay (Councilor Indian Embay to Kuwait) and supported by dignitaries including Dr. Narayan Nampoori (IDF Chairman), Mr. Sunil Menon, Mr. Varghese Pudukkulangara, Mr. Saji Thomas, Mrs Trishur Kannan Swamy and Mrs. Nidhi Suneesh. Mr. Guna Prasad, Treasurer proposed vote of thanks.
The cultural programs displayed fantastic artistic talent and the quality of the programs glued the audience to their seats till the end of the Onam Day. Our Chakyar Shri. Mala Pramod with his excellent humorous presentation has lead the showcase event , the Keraleeyam. The Keraleeyam depicted the folk art forms of all the 14 districts from Thiruvantapuram through Kasargode (padayani, theyyam, skit choreographed by Thiruvalla padayani sangham, Upasana dance studio, Shri. T P Balachandran & Chandramohan Kannur) in a seamless mode like a smooth flowing river.
The cultural programs started with Onam Group song, reception of King Mahabali with Chenda melam by our members, Kids Dance, Melody Dance, songs, Ranga Pooja, Keraleeyam. The program ended with a cultural mix of kathakali, mohaniyattam, padayani, theyyam choreographed by Smt. Manju Sharat (Shivadam Dance School, Mangaf)
