On 11th September 2014 , the children of the pre-primary classes of the Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman Branch, celebrated Grandparents’ Day as a special day to value, honour and to do grand gesture specially for the grandparents.

The programme commenced with the Islamic prayer, school prayer and the Kuwait National Anthem.

The school Principal, Mr. Rajesh Nair C. addressed the gathering with the warm welcome to the grandparents saying that grandparents are God’s gift and have a major role to play in childrens physical and mental development. Grandparents keep a family close together; they are families greatest treasure; they lay the strong foundation; also teach the traditional values through their special love and care, he said.

Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the school were the special invitees and they felt truly loved and cherished as the children put up a fantastic show. Children shared their feelings about their grandparents and entertained with songs and dances. Musical games like Passing the Parcel and Musical Chair were organized for the grandparents to bring out their childhood memories and the winners were awarded by the Principal.

Grandparents expressed their feelings and thoughts by thanking and appreciating the arrangements made and also insisted to keep such programme in the future exclusively for grandparents. They also praised the efforts of dedicated staff and little ones.

The programme ended with the vote of thanks, thanking the grandparents and parents for their support and presence. As a token of love from our little ones, ‘thank you’ cards were distributed to all the grandparents who attended the programme and refreshments were served.

All the grandparents returned home feeling delighted over the special celebration and also as the day brought out pleasant childhood memories.
