Incredible India: Bihar/Jharkhand ONLINE COMPETITIONS

For school students and adults

Maurya Kala Parisar is an active social and cultural organization of people from the Indian state of Bihar and Jharkhand. Formed in the year 1995 it has conducted several events to increase awareness about the Indian states of Bihar and Jharkhand. Ethnic Food Festival showcased dishes unique to eastern India while Dinkar Poetry Awards gave a platform for school students in Kuwait to show their skills in Hindi/Urdu literature.

Now for summer we introduce two online competitions Incredible India: Bihar & Jharkhand. Future Managers, Leaders, Public Policy Planners must be aware of all the states of the nation and what better way to know about two of the states during summer holidays at leisure, having fun and having chance to win attractive prizes. So participation by students, teachers, parents, members and non-members is solicited.

NAME YOUR BEST’ COMPETITION

Name your Best: (Open to school students only):

Get on Google, research Bihar & Jharkhand and send us your three choices in the following categories
a) Famous personalities from Bihar/Jharkhand having significant impact in his/her field (name three): If you are sports buff then Mr Dhoni will be on your list or may be Jaipal Singh captain of Indian Hockey Team winning Olympic gold in 1928. But for movie buffs Satrughn Sinha, Priyanka Chopra or Imtiayaz Ali will make the cut. Do not forget Birsa Munda a folk hero and Albert Ekka the Paramveer Chakra winner.
b) Historical/ Archaeological sites from Bihar/Jharkhand (name three): Being a state in Buddha circuit, land of Mahavir and also Maurya Empire, this category could be most difficult. Khudabaksh Library? No suggestions from our side.
c) Culture of Bihar/Jharkhand (name three): You can let your imagination run wild and name any thing from Chhath Puja to Sonepur animal fair; Mahubani painting to Bhagalpur Silk. Those thinking of fun can also name Bidesia theatre form to Chhau dance.
d) Wild card (name one): Any positive feature not covered above – from science, technology, geography, history, current affairs related to Bihar/Jharkhand.
Submitting complete list (three each in categories a, b & c and one in category d) is mandatory to qualify.
Jury Award: There will be one Jury award for the most researched and creative list.
Popular Award: A final list based on popularity will be prepared by selecting names, which have been most popular choices. 3 Participants whose list match or the nearest to the popular list will receive awards. Thinking of coordinating with friends to submit the same choices, go ahead and do it. In case of tie lots will be drawn.

TRAVELOGUE COMPETITION

Images from Bihar/Jharakhand (Open to all, including adults and school students):

Send us a photograph from Bihar/Jharkhand along with a short message (50 words maximum) describing the place, person, event where the photograph was taken. Photograph must have been clicked by you, your friend or family.
Jury Award: There will be one Jury award for the most creative message and image.
Popular Award: The selected photographs will be put on the Maurya Kala Parisar’s Facebook page/website allowing your friends from all over the world to like it. Three Photographs receiving maximum likes will receive prizes.

Each entry must include full name, mobile number, and active email ID. School students in addition need to provide name of the school and class.
