Efforts to list Kuwait Towers as world heritage landmark

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) was working hard to get Kuwait Towers listed on the UN’s preparatory list of World Heritage edifices, Kuwait Times daily reported citing Al Jarida Arabic daily.

According to daily, MEW assistant undersecretary for water operation and maintenance Mohammed Boshehri said that NCCAL’s secretary general has contacted MEW to join efforts on achieving this goal.

In view of the significance of Kuwait’s modern architectural heritage, NCCAL has been working on listing Kuwait Towers as a world heritage landmark in addition to being a form of using water resources to develop the Kuwaiti society, Boshehri said.

“We hope our application will be accepted because this would be a big feat for Kuwait and its history of architectural achievements,” he added.
