Wednesday, August 27, 2014

176 people were arrested during crackdowns carried out last week in Hawally governorate, under instructions and supervision of Maj Gen Abdulfattah Al-Ali, the Interior Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for General Security.

These include 82 people reported missing by their employers, 24 violators of labor laws and 7 drug offenders.

The campaign comes amid preparations in the Interior Ministry to launch a nationwide security campaign that will include patrols, checkpoints, investigations and other activities aimed at reducing the number of wanted persons and illegal residents in the country. The campaign, which has begun with stepped up numbers of checkpoints, will focus on weapons seizures, drug possession and related crimes.
