ICSK Summer Camp 2014

The beginning of summer vacation coincided with the inauguration of exciting and stimulating summer camp 2014 on 8th June.

The meticulous planning of the camp is execution with perfection from the start of the camp in ICSK senior branch, after releasing the dove by Honorary Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil, Hon. Member to BOT Mr. Sherin Mani and the camp convener Mrs. Sherly Dennis.

The activities currently conducted in the camp are fun filled, affordable and easy to do especially ones that every child enjoys, with personalized creations, when it is time to go home they take with them creative art and relive their memories time and time again.

The discovery summer camp is designed specifically for our youngest campers, thus providing an ideal innovative experience. The bench mark of the camp is the sensitive guidance of experienced staff under the expertise of the camp convener Mrs. Sherly Dennis.

ICSK an institution of repute has enrolled in campus students and children of 9 other schools for the summer camp 2014. For the convenience of parents the management has made arrangement for transportation for required campers.

All campers are given light refreshment to help them understand the culture of caring and sharing while eating.

For the safety of campers a clinic staff in addition to a support staff is available in the premises during the time schedule.

A unique opportunity of ICSK 2014 summer camp is for kids to make a big step forward, exposure to discover innovative ideas, exciting sports, making new friends, learning positive social skills for all age groups.

Perfect care for the well-being and the needs of all age groups is the top priority in the execution of the camp. For the safety of the campers identity card is given to all, regular attendance is maintained and meticulous systematic activities are conducted.

Activities include lots of games, arts, crafts, choice of age, appropriate indoor and outdoor sports; excursions to discover and explore exciting and environmental friendly locations are an integral part of the camp.

These include:

? Creative art
? Craft do it yourself activities
? Aerobics as fitness program
? Karate for self defense
? Dance for relaxation
? Swimming to teach breathing exercise (under the supervision of the life guard)
? Chess for mind tickling
? Carom to develop competitive spirit
? Table tennis as part of CCE to improve their grades in academics
? Drawing and painting to enhance their imagination
? As stress buster two films (weekly) suiting the level of campers will be shown
? Basketball as an outdoor activity to remain focused in shooting
? Badminton as an indoor sport
? Picnic is scheduled for the June 10th to Ahmadi garden and Kuwait magic
? Batch of 30 students split in 4 batches will go on a field trip to Kuwait Danish Diary
? Visit to Scientific Centre as a learning exercise
? Visit to Kidzania

The highlight of 2014 camp is 8 sessions of unique value education/leadership training program which are fun based. The objective of these sessions is to gain valuable practical skills, namely goal setting, presentation, health and hygiene, group dynamics, essence of time management, importance of values/morals to succeed in life.

All this is done through interactive and visual presentations. It is indeed a fantastic school experience to students of ICSK and the children of the Indian diaspora.
The finale of the camp was conducted on 8th July.
Hon. Chairman to the Board of trustees Mr.Asok Kalra , Hon.Joint Secretary Dr.Kamlesh Kumari ,Hon.Board Member Mr.Sherin Thomas Mani,Programme convener and Principal In charge Mrs.Sherly Dennis ,parents, teachers and students attended the closing ceremony.
The program started with Islamic prayer followed by national anthems of Kuwait and India. Mrs.Sherly Dennis in her welcome address briefed about the activities conducted during the camp. Camp children shared their experiences. They put up some items such as dance; Yoga and Karate which are taught during the camp. Hon.Chairman addressed the students and interacted with them. He distributed participation certificates and sweets to all participants. Program coordinator Mrs. Rajam and one of the campers thanked each and everyone.

The ICSK Summer Camp -2014 ended with a photo session of campers with staff and Guests present.
