Domestic to work permit transfer from August 15th

Ministry of Interior begin to allow transfer of Article 20 visas of domestic workers to work permits in the private sector for three months starting from Aug 15.

Director of Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al-Dousari said the domestic workers will be allowed to transfer their residence to the private sector under the same employer or under any of his close relatives after spending one year in the country. Al-Dousari revealed that the authority reached an agreement with the Ministry of Interior to allow such transfer of domestic visas to work visas of private sector for the last time, after which the situation of the local labor market will be studied.
