Thaikkudam Bridge music band Mesmerized Kuwait at NAFO 11th Anniversary

National Forum (NAFO-Kuwait) on Friday, 9th May, 2014, celebrated its 11th anniversary festivities with great pomp and show at the American International School, MaidanHawally. The distinguished gathering included NAFO member families, invited personalities from all communities in Kuwait, NAFO well-wishers, sponsors and media personnel. Prayer song by NAFO Symphony which was coordinated by Ladies Wing, effusively gathered plentiful blessings of the All Mighty God which sanctified the event with tranquility and harmony. A brief audiovisual documentary about NAFO’s recent socio-cultural and welfare activity achievements was displayed, which was highly applauded during the event. NAFO General Secretary, Murali S Nair, welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Srikumar delivered Presidential address. Excellent compeering by Srilaxmi Murali mystically guided and enthralled the audience throughout the event. Among other dignitaries present on the dais were Vijay Karayil, NAFO Patron, Dr. Prasad Nair NAFO Advisory Board member, T K V Pradeepkumar, NAFO Treasurer, Krishnan K. Pillai, Program Convener. Mrs. Dr. Gargi Jain and Mrs. Radha Sreedhar along with other dignitaries performed the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

His Excellency Indian Ambassador, Sri. Sunil Jain, inaugurated the event.The gracious presence of NAFO’s Chief Guest, Padma Vibhushan Dr. E. Sreedharan, a divinely gifted noble legendary technocrat, added superfluous elegance, which amazingly impelled HE Sri. Sunil Jain, to quote the event as the most memorable day in his life in Kuwait. NAFO HR wing co-ordinator, Vijaykrishnan, introduced Dr. Sreedharan to the audience by reading his brief profile highlighting his achievements and honors. Dr. Sreedharan’s inspirational and hugely informative keynote address was emotionally, proudly and respectfully seized by the audience, especially by the younger crowd. He narrated about his pivotal roles and experiences in successful implementation and completion of various iconic (metro rail) projects of India, such as Delhi metro, Konkan railway, and the ongoing Kochi metro. The whole crowd erupted when he mentioned about the progress and his personal role in Kochi metro which is fast approaching completion. Dr. Sreedharan mentioned about the huge advantages of metro rail, such as reduced pollution and cleaner environment, lesser road traffic and eventual accidents, quicker public transport, condensed budget spending, etc. and he advocated for more similar metro rail projects in India. He said that India is today capable and even well equipped to design and launch bullet trains similar to those in Japan. Considering Dr. Sreedharan’s enormous contributions towards modernization of metro rail and infrastructure development of India, he was honored with ponnada and NAFO memento. His Excellency Sri. Sunil Jain was also honored with ponnada and NAFO memento, while considering his several major visionary diplomatic achievements within his short span of official tenure in Kuwait. A colorful and informative souvenir, as a celebration memoir, depicting NAFO’s recent eventful socio-cultural and welfare activities was released by Dr. T. A. Ramesh, Gulf Mart Country Head, along with K. N. S. Das, Dy. General Manager of LULU Exchange Kuwait, and Souvenir convener, T. Pramodkumar, facilitated the releasing event.

Program convener, Krishnan K Pillai, in his vote of thanks expressed gratitude to Dr. Sreedharan, HE Sri. Sunil Jain, other dignitaries and guests, esteemed sponsors, media forum, and NAFO family members for accepting NAFO invitations and for their gracious presence and support. He also thanked Thaikkudam Bridge music band for their willingness to visit Kuwait under NAFO banner.

After conclusion of the formal official inauguration ceremony, the sensational Thaikkudam Bridge music band began mesmerizing the audience through their amazing performance. NAFO’s traditionally courteous and dignified 1300-plus record crowd, wholeheartedly welcomed Thaikkudam Bridge, while the auditorium was trembling with music and dance for more than 3 hours.
