Air Arabia in association with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), hosted Sharjah GCC Road show at Hotel Missoni Kuwait with selected representatives of the country’s travel and tourism industry and local and regional media on 21st April 2014.

The road show included presentations by SCTDA officials and representatives of Air Arabia, and the hospitality sector on Sharjah's various tourist attractions, cultural offerings and leisure options.

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority led a delegation of the Emirates’ tourism and hospitality industry to the GCC states as part of its efforts to showcase Sharjah’s tourism, promoting and marketing its cultural and commercial significance in an attempt to spread their wings further and attract more tourists from across the region.

Mr. Mohamed Dasouky, the Area Manager of Air Arabia in the state of Kuwait, hosted this one-of-a-kind event, commencing it by extending his heartfelt thanks to all the travel and business partners of Air Arabia for their consistent support. Mr. Dasouky highlighted to his guests that Air Arabia is the first and the largest low cost Airline in the Middle East and North Africa region with more than 90 destinations around the Globe. He also mentioned that Air Arabia proudly hoisted its flag for the tenth year in a row on 28th October 2013, and thanked Mr. Jassim Al Kooheji - Air Arabia’s Regional General Manager, for taking over the challenge and responsibilities of their services in the GCC and the Levant.

Mr. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Director General, SCTDA, then joined the speech and commented that Kuwait was now one of the most promising tourism markets for Sharjah in the Gulf region and had well emerged in recent years. Last year saw a 21 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of Kuwaiti tourists flocking to the Emirates. ‘Thanks to Air Arabia, Kuwait is now well connected with Sharjah and UAE,’ he was quoted as saying.

‘All this makes Sharjah, the Capital of Arab and Islamic Culture, a favourite tourism destination for both the Arab families and visitors from around the world,” continued the SCTDA Director General.

The event was concluded on a rather contented note at 1600 Hours, after lunch was served to the respected guests. For their outstanding performance and unfaltering dedication in 2013, the top 17 agents of Air Arabia in the State of Kuwait were honoured. Their efforts were recognised and awarded, making it a memorable moment for each one of them. Air Arabia was extensively impressed by the performance of said agents and encouraged them to remain as dedicated and help Air Arabia flourish further.
