Expatriates ownership of property unthinkable

The expatriates’ ownership of real estate properties in Kuwait is unthinkable, considering the lack of land that led to a remarkable increase in the prices of real estate, Arab Times daily reported citing Al- Shahed Arabic daily.

According to daily, Calling for the formation of a specialized body for the distribution of land, the official from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry claimed there is no control over the rental fees in Hawally and Salmiya.

Official pointed out the owners of real estate properties have been taking advantage of the situation by raising rental fees by 100 to 160 percent, not to mention the State’s control over 97 percent of the total land area.
