13 drug-peddlers held in major anti-narcotic drive

Special Operations Force arrested 13 suspects of various nationalities with possession of drugs over the past 24 hours, local media repotred.

According to Kuwait Times report, a police patrol suspected an Asian in Midan Hawalli and on stopping him he was found wanted in many cases. Searching him, policemen found a bag of ICE. Another patrol arrested an Asian and an Iranian in a parking lot at a Salmiya shopping mall where they were found inebriated. The force found ICE with the suspects. In a separate incident, a citizen was stopped at the Blajat road in Salmiya as he was walking awkwardly and on reaching him, he had ICE on him as well. Three Egyptians were arrested in Hawally with possession of six
bars of hashish, a bag of ICE and cash, said security sources noting that the suspects were referred to relevant authorities.

A Syrian and Jordanian were arrested in Hawalli, said security sources noting that a police patrol had suspected the two on spotting them standing with a motorcyclist on his bike behind a building. The sources added that on approaching the three, the motorcyclist dashed away leaving the other two suspects with the possession of two bags of ICE, three bags of ‘chemical’ drug and KD1,049 in cash. A case was filed and further investigations are in
progress.

Three bdoons and a Saudi were recently arrested in Salmiya with the possession of a piece of hashish and two joints.

A citizen was arrested in Mubarak Al-Kabeer with the possession of ICE and a ready-to use heroin syringe, said security sources noting that a police patrol had suspected the way the suspect drove his car. On stopping and searching him, the drugs were found.

A citizen and a bedoon were arrested at Arhaya desert with the possession of 28 psychotropic pills, a bag of ICE and three loaded gun magazines, said security sources. Case papers indicate that responding to a report about two cars suspiciously parked off the road in the desert, a police force rushed to the scene, surrounded the two vehicles and arrested the two drivers. On searching the cars, the force found the drugs and ammo. In addition, on checking on the two cars, they turned out to be wanted for being used in robberies in Shuwaikh industrial area.
