Thrissur Association Conducted workshop: "Parenting Safe Children"

Thrissur association of Kuwait recently conducted a workshop on "Parenting Safe Children: Keeping children safe from sexual abuse in our community" which was presented to TRASSK members and for the public. This most needed topic in today's day to day life was presented by Mrs.Shilpa Pathak, Clinical Psychologist & School Counselor.
The topic of the workshop was appreciated by trassk members , and it's friends from different walks of life, which was successfully conducted in co-operation with Indian Central School & Colours Printing Press at Indian central school auditorium.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest of the event" Mrs.Santha Mariam James" , the Principal of Indian Central school (Former Chairperson - Council of CBSE Affiliated Schools in the Gulf) followed by inaugural speech, Mr.Venu T.G the TRASSK president gave presidential speech , welcome speech by TRASSK Convener.Mrs.Shiny Frank, Felicitation by Mr.Biju Korath & vote of thanks by Mr.Jayasankar.
During the workshop, Mrs.Shilpa Pathak gave a very detailed information about Parenting safe children, Keeping children safe from sexual abuse in our community, what is sexual abuse, who are the victims of sexual abuse, who are perpetrators, what are the effects of child sexual abuse, can children recover from child sexual abuse, protecting children from sexual abuse, being open and honest will help your child stay safe, using books and stories to help conversations, how to keep children safe from grooming online and in face to face situations, online safety and cyber bullying..etc and the session winded up with question & answer session.
