Indian delegation visits KISR

A visiting Indian delegation discussed with Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) ways of enhancing scientific and technological cooperation in all fields of science and research.

The Indian delegation includes Mr. Pramod Bhushan, Chief Scientist, CSIR New Delhi, Dr. R. Rajasekharan Director CFTRI Mysore, Dr. P. S. Rao, Chief Scientist, National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, Dr. Y. K. Sharma, Chief Scientist, Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, Dr. Sateesh Shenoi Director, Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Dr. Venkata S. Reddum, Dr. T. M. Balakrishnan Nair, Mr. K. Mullai Vendhan and Dr. M. V. R. Murthy.

KISR's Director General Dr. Naji Al-Mutairi said during the meeting, Monday, that the visit is an implementation of an agreement, amongst many others, that was signed between Kuwait and India in promoting scientific research, especially after His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's last visit to New Delhi.

He added that a three-day workshop will be held on the sideline of the visit; the workshop is to focus on mutual research topics and will discuss Oceanography, the science of the ocean and its different disciplines as well as food science.

KISR has previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India's largest research and development organization, with 37 laboratories and 39 field stations or extension centers spread across the nation.
