Hadi XI crowned Champions in Kokan Premier League 2014

Waghiware Cricket Club ( WCC ) successfully organized The Kokan Premier League ( KPL) 2014, a cricket league for the Kokani Community in Kuwait. Some of the best teams representing the Kokani speaking community in Kuwait participated in the event.
KPL 2014 was sponsored by Mr. Salim Hasan Kaskar, Dr. Abdul Razzak Rumane, Grand Hyper, Gulf India, Rumani Travels Mumbai, Marwa Restaurant Salmiya, Raban – Elsa Watches, Baxel Construction Materials, Fruitland Agro India, Mr. Imtiaz Chougle, EPO Gulf, BASF, Index Co., Safoora Resl Estate India, Grace and Jeeva Al Kuwait.
Mr. Asad Baig who is the Director General of Kuwait Cricket was the guest of honor on this occasion.
Hadi XI were crowned Champions of KPL 2014 In the finals. Hadi XI Scored 80 Runs in 10 overs for Loss of 9 Wickets and Won against Sahara XI who were bowled out for Scored 70 Runs in 9 overs.
Fawad Pangarkar from HADI XI was named the Man of the Match for his match wining bowling spell taking 3 wickets and giving away just 15 runs . Munawar Lokhande and Israr Dalvi also put in brilliant performances for Hadi Xi to help them win the game.
Waghiware Cricket Club won the Best Discipline Team Award .
Morba Cricket Club won the Third Place Trophy.
The top individual awards presented were as follows:
Best Batsmen:
1. Azhar Sange of Azad Cricket Club - 138 Runs
2. Saud Hamdulay – Waghiware Cricket Club – 127 Runs
3. Salman Fakih – Hadi XI -123 Runs
Best Bolwers:
1. Salman Fakih from Hadi XI – 11 Wickets
2. Rauf Shivkar from Waghiware Cricket Club – 10 Wickets
3. Munawar Lokhande – Hadi XI – 10 Wickets
Best All Rounders:
1. Salman Fakih – Hadi XI – Scored 123 Runs took 11 Wickets
2. Waseem Mukadam– Flora Kokan United - Scored 85 Runs and took 9 Wickets
3. Imran Mulla – Morba Cricket Club - Scored 97 Runs and took 5 Wickets
Best Wicket Keepers:
1. Saud Hamdulay – Waghiware Cricket Club
2. Amin Khadas – Azad Cricket Club
3. Asif Sarang – Flora Kokan United
Salman Fakih from Hadi XI was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of KPL 2014.
All the games were being relayed live ball by ball via the KPL website. KPL’s website was followed from all over the world and has crossed 1 Million hits this season! This is a great achievement for KPL Kuwait and its organizers Waghiware Cricket Club.
The event was attended by a huge crowd of more than 200 people to encourage the teams.
Waghiware Cricket Club ( WCC ) conducts this as an annual event to bring the Kokani Speaking Community in Kuwait together.
