IKFS “Mushaera & Sham-E-Ghazal” Enthralled The Audience

Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society, Kuwait has enthralled the audience of “Mushaera and Sham-e-Ghazal “evening on Saturday, 27th October, 2012 (11th Dul Hajja 1433Hijri) at the auditorium of Salmiya Indian Model School, Salmiya. Mrs. Shahjahan Jaffri , a well known Mushaera organizer was the Master of Ceremony. Program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Miss: Zainab Ghalib (11th class student of Indian Public school) at 07:00 p.m. Shahjahan Jaffri ignited the Mushaera with the presence of H.E. Satish Mehta, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait. More than 10 well known Mushaaera artists participated in the event and enjoyed the shaeers (Poems) in India’s national languages of both Hindi & Urdu.

This is the first time IKFS is hosting Mushaera program in Kuwait. IKFS has earlier organized several contests in Calligraphy competitions in HINDI/URDU/ARABIC in addition to “Patriotic Songs” and “Essay writings” for School going students on Inter-school basis. Mrs. Shahjan Jaffri & Mrs. Mattin Sadiqi (Executive committee members of IKFS) supervised the Mushaera and Ghazal event. Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor, President, IKFS presided the meeting and said that he is very much delighted to see H.E. Satish Mehta’ and H.E.’s presence in the program. H.E. Satish Mehta has supported the idea of launching a “Mashaera” program in the beginning, when IKFS Patron Sami Bubere visited Kuwait and noted that H.E. is already a great fan of “Mushaera”.

H.E. Satish Mehta, Ambassador of India was the Chief Guest of the Event who delivered the Inaugural speech. H.E. Satish Mehta praised IKFS committee for hosting various events which are beneficial to the community in Kuwait who have come from various parts of India covering all the linguistic solutions. IKFS Prizes and certificates to the winning children and the representatives of the participating schools.

IKFS Chief Advisor & Patron, Muzammil Malik, (Industrialist & Philanthropist ), Abdul Mohsin Al-Sadi (CEO, Al-Sadi Intl. GT Co. and IKFS Patron), Talib Bawazir (CEO Arabian Family Translation Centre, MirgabOffice), Sanjay Yadav (Principle Salmiya Indian Model school) also were present and graced the event. IKFS executive committee thanked H.E. Satish Mehta, Ambassador of India, The Chief Guest, for attending and delivering inaugural speech and handing over the prizes to the winning school students in the Patriotic songs , Essay, Solo singing and Instrumental Music competitions held in the same premises earlier (during the after-noon hours).

Later, Dr. Al-Mashoor introduced V.K. Mohammed Kunhi Master, aged 75 years to the audience as the “Guest of Honor” in the event. Mohammed Kunhi Master was the contemporary of Justice V. Khalid (Former Supreme Court Judge), and H.E. E. Ahamed Saheb, (the present State Minister of External and Human Resources, Government of India). V.K. is known to several thousands of Keralites in India and other GCC countries who decorated earlier the title of Vice President of Indian Union Muslim League (Kerala chapter) and also maintaining the status of President of C.H. Centre (a Humanitarian charity centre established in the name of Former Chief Minister of Kerala, Late C.H. Mohamed Koya Saheb) delivered a brief speech about C.H. Centre’s activities in Kerala especially in Kannur District, where most of their activities are on the humanitarian fields and providing medicine and free consultations to the public without distinguishing religion or caste or color. Human aids such as helping patients who have endangered with various diseases including Kidney failure and assisting them to get regular dialysis treatments etc… Muzammil Malik decorated K.V. with a “Shal” as a token of appreciation by “IKFS” Executive Commitee.

A very attractive Kuwaiti Folklore (Men) dance were also performed during the event by Fayyaz & Ghaffoor team in Kuwait. Big applauses were heard during the Folklore troupe’s talented attempts in keeping the crowd very enthusiastic and happy. Iftakhar Ahamed (Treasurer), Mrs. Mattin Sadiqui also coordinated with the Ghazal & Mushaera programs. The program ended by Abdul Hameed & Parties’ (a well known Senior Artist & Ghazal singer in Kuwait). Abdul Hameed performed more than 2 hours Ghazal singing. He enthralled the audience with old Ghazal songs of Late Mannede, Mehdi Hasan, and Ajit. Songs of Pankaj Das and Ghulam Ali and other well known singers ‘ master piece’ were also carried out, in addition to his own edited Ghazal songs and as per the audience’s requirements. Free refreshments and dinner were served for an approximate crowd of 200 during the one half day event. A.K.S.Abdul Nazar (General Secretary) welcomed the guests while Natrajan (Secretary) Eng. Sayid Fadal nizar, Laxmi Ramalingham coordinated the programs and children’s contests.
