Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society, a well known not-for - profit NRI friendship association in Kuwait and the front runner of elvating various issues related to the non-resident Indians (NRIs) has asked Kuwait Airways and Jet Airways to operate direct air flights (non-stop flights) to Kozhikode (CCJ) from Kuwait (KWI).

IKFS Secretary Pradeep Rajkumar and A K S Abdul Nazar, General Secretary said that our President Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor had already had discussions with the Director of the International Affairs of both Kuwait Airways and Jet Airways in the subject recently, and they have assured to look into IKFS’ request by coordinating with the appropriate and relevant authorities of Aviation and Governmental organizations both in India and Kuwait.

IKFS sent a letter to Indian Aviation Minister H.E. Ajit Singh, Govt. Of India, explaining about the necessity of operating non-stop direct flights to Kozhikode from Kuwait. IKFS explained to H.E. Ajit Singh, about the day to day difficulties faced by Kozhikode bound passengers whose numbers are exceeding 50,000 in Kuwait and are the most suffering people from Kerala’s Northern Part without having proper direct flights from Kuwait.

IKFS indicated that the recent strike by Air India Express (the so called budget airline - a subsidiary of AIRINDIA) staff made miserable to the passengers bounded to Kozhikode and had devastated their hopes of survival. Because, Kozhikode Bound passengers cannot recover the huge losses due to the cancelling of the flights by AIRINDIA Express. Re-purchasing of new tickets thru’ other airlines made severe loss and some of them even cancelled their trips to their home country. IKFS asked what are the functions of AIR INDIA as the parent Organization ? Do they have short circuit to indulge the interest of the Aviation Ministry? If their staff is not concerned for the well-being of their INDIAN brethren especially Keralite passengers then the blame should be addressed to the Minister himself. The blame should be borne by the Aviation Ministry, IKFS said that proper action should be taken by bearing the responsibility and compensate the passengers who lost their hard-earned money by cancelling their tickets.

IKFS also requested immediate intervention of H.E. Ajit Singh and to draw a plan to re-operate the Kozhikode bound flights by AIR-INDIA Express , and at the same time to approve the additional direct flights routed to Kozhikode by Jet Airways and Kuwait Airways for which they will be contacting the Ministry soon.

Dr. Al-Mashoor said that IKFS hopes that requests made to Director of International Affairs of Kuwait Airways and Station Manager of Jet Airways, may possibly consider and soon will show some positive reply for solving the problems of Kozhikode bound passengers. IKFS is willing to coordinate with any NRI non-profit and monitor the situation until those 2 Airways implement their operations. IKFS is always n the forefront of safe guarding the economic aspect of our mother land India, and without jeopardizing the interest of India’s foreign income and national integration. div>
