Oh My God! It’s fascinating to believe that I’m quite recognized as a young reporter, But it’s even more enthralling when I evoke that its all because of Indians in Kuwait-the complete web portal for Indians in Kuwait. IIK is not only a worthy website for adults but also a perfect platform for the many students to disclose their writing talents. Whenever I open IIK, I first visit the IIK Kids column because it’s really fun when I see all my friends writing amazing articles. There are many more interesting tabs which is really informative for the ‘Indians In Kuwait’.

It all started when I was in 8th and my English teacher- Mrs. Sindhu Ajaykumar Ma’m got a print out of the young reporter contest which brings out the hidden journalism in ourselves and announced it in the class. But I as usual, didn’t pay much attention to it. But then she had pinned that printout in the class. I Got an immense interest to write them. I returned home and told my mom about this and she also wanted me to put pen to paper. So I thought real hard for a good unusual topic, but there was nothing coming to my mind.

And finally came the day when we celebrated the ‘Annual sports day’ of our school. I had performed a pageant in it. so, that evening I opened my laptop to see facebook, when I ended up when no one was online. I racked my brains hard because I wanted to type something or the other. And at last I remembered about the young reporter!! So I sat and wrote the article with so much interest and sent to the IIK Team on that day itself. Then with a lengthy process they had my article published on the site. It was so thrilling to see it there!!

And then after a long time, I got a mail to write an article as an Republic Day supplement. This time I got an interesting topic which was suggested by my mom –SERVICE TO MAN IS SERVICE TO GOD. Many people liked that article of mine.

Later, then was a seminar by Dr. Biswaroop – the memory man which was set off by Indians In Kuwait. In which I got a chance to attend the first slot of time. And there I was awarded 2nd place as a young reporter. I got an American tourister bag. I was really feeling glad that day! The next day was the 8 hour workshop by the memory man Dr. Biswaroop. It was really an unforgettable experience. The memory methods taught in the seminar is of really a great in my academics nowadays. I thank Dr.Biswaroop and the Indians In Kuwait team to give us such a wonderful time.

I even participated in the IIK Spectrum Open Art Competition. But I was lucky to get participation certificate. I was pleased to see many of my worthy opponents to receive huge trophies and medals.

After A month, my friend Manar A Khan who is also a Young Reporter forwarded me a mail for a contest. The IIK team had conducted a small test which was to recall 20 words and 50 digits in 10 minutes. Me and my friends got selected in that and got a chance to perform in front Dr. Biswaroop and a packed audience. We were awarded the JUNIOR GRANDMASTER TITLE. So I thank my parents, Manar and of course the IIK for all this.

Thenceforth, came my exams when my friends became real bookworms and this time it was them who gave me the idea of writing the article of how to stay relaxed but also study well during exams. For this article I was rewarded the MOST TIMELY ARTICLE AWARD.
Subsequently, I wanted to write more when, I saw many people being stuck to the computer which suggested me to write the article to create awareness on using too much of gadgets. So I wrote the article titled SOCIAL IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY.

After a huge gap, I wrote my final article to achieve the title of ‘YOUNG REPORTER’. So I wrote an commentary on ‘Importance of time’. And when that was published, I was really happy to the glowing golden-red badge on my profile. I was delighted.

So there I end, by assuring that I will and always will write more and more article as contributions of IIK!!
