This shows that any individual in this world is totally dependent on the internet.
‘Facebook’, ‘Google+’, ‘Yahoo’, and so many more are now the most visited sites all over the world. How does it affect the individual himself or herself? How does it have a social impact?
Wikipedia says that Facebook covers about 845 million users out of 7 billion all over the world. And many of the users range from school going children to teenagers.
Even though social networks helps in re-connecting with long-lost friends, one can send private messages, make groups and chat with their near and dear ones, such sites have affected a large number. In today’s fast paced world, such sites can be accessed through cell phones, i-pods, or any other handy gadget.
As far as an individual is concerned, constant viewing of such sites can lay a detrimental effect on many parts of the body. Another problem is that tons of time gets wasted in surfing such sites. Example, the ‘timeline’ in Facebook is a perfect representation to show how people waste their precious time since 2004. Next, Procrastination becomes a major problem as youngsters get addicted towards these. These days, many students loose marks in essay or paragraph writing in exams because of the usage of short forms while chatting.
In a social level, even if a profile is on privacy and is restricted, it’s still simple for strangers to access them. Some use the obtained data for a good purpose, but many use it as a cause to harm. Users ignore to safe guard their privacy settings, giving more vulnerability to parasites.
Do not leave the earth and sit ‘inside’ the computer. Social Networking sites can be worthy only if it is used in the right manner.
