My Journey at SEAK

Natasha Fernandes, IIT Foundation Class 9 Thursday, April 21, 2016

My journey with SCIENTIFIC EXCELLENCE ACADEMY (SEAK) began 2 years ago when I made up my mind to enroll at the IIT Foundation, the academy committed to making a difference in the lives of its aspiring students.

In the beginning, I was evasive, apprehensive and a tad skeptical about the IIT-JEE course offered by the Scientific Excellence Academy as I was under the impression that the concepts would be beyond the realms of my cognitive abilities. There was every room for this apprehension as the curriculum is more complex and more advanced than the normal school curriculum. However, my trepidation paved way for determination stemmed from my ardent desire to excel in academics. I decided to enroll in the course with a strong will to benefit from the expertise of the immensely talented and experienced faculty at the academy to chisel out my future as suggested by my parents.

Initially I did find it a bit tough as I had to sacrifice my prized Saturdays for the coaching classes. I missed out on many events too. But having made up my mind to take this up as a challenge, I tried not to let any other activities and events affect my goal. I started setting aside a little time on a daily basis to revise what was taught in the class. Little by little, within a short span of time, the concepts and theories began to unravel quite effortlessly and needless to mention, my confidence skyrocketed. I began to enjoy the coaching classes and Saturdays became more interesting than ever!

IIT Foundation has helped me in so many ways. Back in school, my grades improved drastically. Particularly my Math Grades. My personal outlook changed from ‘I hate Math to ‘Math is interesting.’ And as for Science - I just enjoyed everything and anything related to it.

The classes have not only helped me in school but also in competitive exams. I have won the title of ‘The Outstanding Performer in the Sastra Pratibha’ for two consecutive years. The IIT foundation has helped me achieve this success by fostering my logical reasoning skills as well as my scientific temper.

I am indeed very happy to be at SEAK and I look forward to learning a lot more in the years to come. I would like to remind everyone about a famous saying by Colin Powell. “Success is the result of hard work, perfection, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence”. We need to reach for the stars and I firmly believe that SEAK will certainly help me scale greater heights in my pursuit for excellence…to shine brightly like the northern star on the pathway to everlasting success in all walks of life.
