KSE President discussed Indian Engineers issue with Indian Ambassador

Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) President Faisal Al-Atl held a meeting with the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Dr Adarsh Swaika and other officials to discuss the issues of accreditation of Indian Engineers.

KSE President, in a statement, expressed his satisfaction on the cooperation with Indian Embassy in implementing the requirements for practice, which led to a significant decrease in the number of Indian engineers who were unable to obtain engineering accreditation.

They also discussed the number of cases where the Indian Engineers are unable to get NOC from KSE and assured that they will work together to address those cases.

Faisal Al-Atl, disclosed KSE's plans to launch a dedicated digital platform aimed at recruiting engineers from diverse nationalities. This platform will ensure that candidates’ qualifications and experiences align with the profession’s requirements, followed by accreditation procedures and examinations upon their arrival in the country.

Indian Ambassador invited the Society to visit the Ministry of Higher Education in India and learn about advancements in the educational process and other accreditation bodies.

"Indian Embassy from 2018 started discussion, but not successful...The best engineers in the world is from India...The result will be loss for Kuwait Government as they are loosing good workers......."

@Vijay, unfortunately the problem is not Kuwait government. It is our government which has created this NBA nonsense and disqualified hundreds of top quality engineers!!
No other nationalities are facing this problem. Once the university awarding the degree is recognized then KSE has no problem.

It is our government which has put Indian engineers in this dilemma:
1. How does KSE know about NBA? Our government told them and put hundreds of qualified (citizens) engineers in dire situation.
2. It is the university which awards the degree, not the college. If the university is recognized then no engineer''s qualification should be in doubt. Why this NBA nonsense??
3. This is just another educational scam. NBA charges 5L (maybe increased) per faculty per college. (Eg. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, CS is 4x5=20 Lakh)

Since 2018, I have been following up with Indian Embassy & KSE for the renewal of my KSE membership but till date nothing has been resolved. KSE is insisting on NBA accreditation specially for Indian Architects which is not a mandatory as Indian architects are accredited by Council of Architects (CoA), India. NBA is not a criteria for Indian Architect accreditation.
Indian Embassy should take a firm stand for Indian Architects with KSE, which are not under the Engineering field. The NBA requirement should be cancelled with immediate effect and the category title for Indian Architects should be read as "Architects" and not as "Architectural Engineers".
