KCICAI Hosts Exclusive Iftar and CPE Event

The Kuwait Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (KCICAI) proudly hosted a thought-provoking Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Iftar event centred around two paramount topics: "Impact of AI on our Profession" and "Digital Transformation and its Effect on Humanity." The event, graced by distinguished speakers, Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, President of South Asia Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj, CEO of City Group, garnered insightful discussions and reflections.

CA Rabin Gonsalves, the esteemed Chairperson of KCICAI, officially welcomed the audience, providing insights into the chapter's recent activities and upcoming initiatives. Emphasizing the crucial role of professionals in embracing technology and driving innovation, Gonsalves set the tone for an enlightening evening. CA Sweta Chipra and CA Venkata Ramana, executive committee members of KCICAI, co-hosted the event, ensuring its smooth flow and engaging atmosphere.

The event commenced with Mr. Heshana Kuruppu’s compelling discourse on "The Impact of AI on Our Profession," captivating attendees with profound insights into the evolving landscape of the accounting profession in the era of AI. Kuruppu emphasized the importance of embracing AI as a tool for transformation, stating, "People do not lose jobs to AI, but they lose jobs to people who know AI." His presentation illuminated how AI is revolutionizing traditional practices and driving efficiencies, urging professionals to evolve into value enablers in decision-making processes.

Following Kuruppu’s engaging presentation, Mr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj took the stage to address "Digital Transformation and Its Effect on Humanity." Drawing from his extensive experience in leading technological advancements within City Group, Bhardwaj provided invaluable insights into the broader societal implications of digital transformation. He explored the ethical considerations, challenges, and opportunities arising from the rapid pace of technological change, urging attendees to prioritize a human-centric approach to digital innovation.

The event provided attendees with a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between AI, digital transformation, and professional domains. Through thought-provoking discussions and expert perspectives, participants were encouraged to reflect on the evolving landscape and strategize for the future.

"We are delighted to have hosted such an enlightening event that brought together professionals from diverse backgrounds to explore the transformative power of AI and digital technologies," remarked CA Surin Gandhi while presenting the vote of thanks.

As industries evolve and technology reshapes the landscape of professions worldwide, it is imperative for professionals to stay abreast of these changes. KCICAI recognizes this need and remains committed to fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration within the community. The chapter looks forward to organizing more impactful events in the future.
