Goa is a land full of life and lively people. It is the smallest state of India .It is an evergreen destination on the west coast of India which makes it a holiday paradise. The blue seas ,glistening sand, fabulous flora and fauna, rich cultural heritage captivating gothic churches, chapels and temples, the rocking night life and sumptuous sea food and but the least its friendly and helpful people who make this place a popular holiday spot.

Goa is basically divided into South Goa and North Goa. The city is very clean and green. The people here lead a very simple life and enjoy their life to the maximum possible. It is a famous tourist place not only for Indians but also for the foreigners, who find this place amazing.

This vacation I had been to Goa with my family. It was a wonderful experience. We started are journey by train and enjoyed the scenic beauty as we passed through the mountains and followed the Konkan route which is very beautiful

and time saving. We passed through many tunnels and had mouthwatering dishes which were sold in the train by the pantry car people. We started in the morning and reached Goa in the early afternoon. We got down at the Thivim railway station.

We were put at the Palmarinha Hotel which is located at Calangute, in the North of Goa, less than 2 kms from the famous Calangute Beach, 55 kms away from the airport and 16kms from the Thivim Railway Station.

Places of touristic attraction in Goa:

1. Temples: Mangueshi temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in the 17th Century. Shantadurga temple is one of the richest temples dedicated to Shantadurga, the goddess of Peace also famous for the Golden Palanquin.

2. Born Jesus Basilica Church: Here lies the body of St. Francis Xavier. This church is the largest of its kind in the east.

3. Colva Beach: This is the longest beach in Goa, it is the only beach which is a threat to the Calangute Beach in popularity.

4. Calangute Beach: It is known as the Queen of Goa’s beaches. It is known for its musical groups which draws the attention of hundreds of people.

5.Baga Beach: It is also one of the famous beaches of Goa.The water here is crystal clear and you have sea acticities like parsailing ,water scooter etc.

6. Dona Paula: It is an important touristic attraction in south of Goa. It is the highest point from where one can see the confluence of River Zuari and Mandovi with Arabian Sea. This place is named after Dona and Paula and is a famous film shooting point .You can see this place in the recent movie Singham and an old blockbuster Ek Duje Ke Liye.

7. Miramar Beach: It is a short and sweet beach. Here lies the Samadhi of Goa’s First Chief Minister, Late Dayanand Bandodkar.

8. Boat Cruise: It is the most mesmerizing part of Goa. Here the boat shows you the complete sea view of Goa. It reflects the lifestyle of Goa and entertains the people with the folk dances of Goa. It is a lifetime experience.

9.Casinos: There are many casinos here like the Maharaja, Carnival, Royal which are nothing but cruises which have been converted into a casino and are parked in the middle of the sea to entertain you and give you experience of a complete holiday.

So pack your bags and leave for Goa to have a wonderful holiday as I had.
