The days 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of February were filled with joy, entertainment and surprises as the famous Russian Circus known as Cirque de glace had visited Kuwait, in the Ice skating Rink in Soor Street.
The place was packed with people of all age groups. It was indeed an ice show beyond imagination. The first time in the Middle East ever and luckily in Kuwait.
We had been for the 4.30pm show on 8th February. It was a spectacular event. The event was beyond my imagination. If you are a lover of theatre, music & acrobatics then you’ll surely love Cirque De Glace!
It was truly a fun filled, beautiful, eye-catching and creative show lasting for nearly 2hours with a 10 minutes break. We especially loved the 2nd half!
The theme of the circus was ‘Evolution of the earth and its protection’.
It started by show casing the life of early man, how they invented fire, wheel and how development took place. Then they switched to the idea that when education and technology developed, it started drastically affecting our planet- earth by releasing harmful gases from industries, factories and vehicles, bycutting down of tress for more space for construction which led to Global warming. The melting of the glaciers was beautifully depicted by use of a plastic sheet and white costumes. The band was rocking. The synchronization was awesome.
It was a lifetime experience and truly LOADS of fun for the whole family. Kudos to the Russian Ice Stars & the organizing team for bringing this wonderful show to Kuwait!
It included people doing ice skating, acrobatics, aerobics and of course arsonist pyromaniacs.
Cirque de Glace is probably the highest standard of ice show I've ever seen. The storyline was clear, the music, visuals and costumes were inspiring and the standard of skating was very high and professional.
Once you see it, you would want to see it again and again. It was truly magical. It takes you into another world.
I personally enjoyed it a lot. It mesmerized me. I felt as if I was totally out of this world. I highly appreciate the performers, their training, practice and efforts that they have put into making this event a success. Next they will be going to Jordan from Kuwait and will be performing there from 14th-16th February.
Next time they come to Kuwait, make it a point to see it.
