Finger and biometric for my 18 year old son

I was renewing my son residency on 9 April 2024 as the residency expires on 11 April 2024. The medical insurance payment was through and as I proceeded with the residency renewal a pop was shown that finger print not available.
So I would like to know the "finger print" mentioned in pop up is seperate from Biometric or are both the same? Should I take seperate appointment for both?

Separate from Biometric. Biometric is not related to residency - as of now.

And you do need to take appointments for both as he has turned 18.

It happened for me.
Fingerprints and biometrics are the same and should not be confused.

Just go to any nearby biometric center without an appointment and tell them my child is going to India for an exam. Please try to allow biometrics.

Don''t worry, they''ll most likely accept.

Residency Fingerprint and biometrics are not the same as of now. They may combine it as one later but not right now.
Even in the Meta Appointment website, there are separate sections for ''Family Dependent Fingerprint'' and ''Biometric Enrollment''

Dear Jamshid ,I am also facing same issue ..did Biometric on 14 march but still Residency renewal page is showing Finger Print Missing.Plz update in the forum if your issue is resolved.If yes What process you followed.It will be a big help for us.
