CBSE has requirement of any two languages
I feel ur info is not correct
You have to approach school
They will allow other language instead of Malayalam.

From this year onwards, CBSE is planning to introduce 3 languages upto class 10 out of which one language is English (foreign language) and the other 2 must be indian languages inclusive of Sanskrit. Our kids may face a problem as they are learning 2 foreign languages ie Eng and Arabic. Some have even taken French instead of Hindi since grade 1. All these students are not even being considered by CBSE

Students will be required to study three languages — instead of two — till Class X, at least two of which must be native Indian languages. At the higher secondary level, students will have to study two languages instead of one, at least one of which must be a native Indian language.
Secondary-level students will now have to clear 10 subjects, as opposed to the current requirement of five. Graduating from high school will require clearing six subjects, instead of five.
