When did we regain our long-lost independence?
Was it in 1857, or 1947?
In reality, it was neither of those dates,
It was the day we realized what was on our plates…
The tyrants taxed us, and stole our rights,
And in response, we spoke up and started many fights.
Our mindset changed, and our thirst
For independence, deepened with a sudden burst.
The day our minds were shaped,
The second our souls escaped,
We had achieved independence and free will.
We had acquired freedom and a lot of skill.
Long before they officially left our land,
We had achieved full independence, as we agreed to withstand
The oppression of the unjust rulers,
In the end, we couldn’t have done it without the doers.
The freedom fighters who shaped our minds,
They emerged from backgrounds of all kinds.
We pledge our allegiance to their brave actions,
If it wasn’t for them, the nation would have split up in factions.
They gave us independence way before the world had thought,
We had attained it the moment we fought.
The mind is what controls everything,
The struggle taught us that we can achieve anything!
