We Indians express our patriotism in various forms. Every person has a way of expressing patriotism for their country. For example, a physicist who works at ISRO expresses his love for his country with every project he does with the hopes of it being a pioneering invention just like the real-life Mangalyaan mission. The physicists and scientists who worked on the project very much expressed their love for India through a space probe that they put their heart and soul into which managed to reach Mars on its first try and with a lower budget than some Hollywood movies. Another example like a doctor can be taken. A doctor who works either for the government or a private enterprise is in some way or the other contributing to the country by helping people at their lowest with their illnesses. Some many more people and stories can be used but that would take an entire article in and of itself.

As Indians, we should be proud and in awe of our illustrious past and present when it comes to our kingdoms and achievements respectively. But we should also be immensely grateful to our freedom fighters who put their lives secondary to our freedom. Gandhi did the Dandi March with the solidarity of other people in response to the salt tax that had been recently imposed by the British. Salt is something that is alike between all of us, rich or poor, bad or good, and so on. Today, salt is a common ingredient we get even in public distribution systems in India, and is not expensive to buy. We should be very thankful that a movement like that happened so that today we have salt for our food readily available.

The development of India has been immense since Independence 75 years ago. Many of the world's leading engineers are Indians like Sundar Pichai, an Indian engineer from Madurai, Tamil Nadu who later on became the CEO of Google in 2015. Another example can be the engineers of Apple. Another facet our country excels in is Computer Science. The supercomputer PARAM 8000 was India's first supercomputer which brought on a series of new achievements in the realm of Science & Technology.

In conclusion, India has come a long way since its Independence and before. We as Indians are very fortunate to have the resources and freedom our ancestors and freedom fighters unfortunately didn't have. They fought for the freedom of later generations and for the country they couldn't bear to see get exploited.
