Independence means you can do something by yourself without depending on others, while freedom has bigger border which has no restriction or rules. For Example, you can ride a bicycle independently with the freedom of going around the whole park. So, independence does not depend on anyone.

Every year on August 15, the Indian nation celebrates its Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. It is the day on which in 1947, the British transferred political power to the Indians after nearly 200 years of imperial rule over the country. This day is remembered as the day on which India shook the chains of bondage and made a passage to freedom after a long period of struggle and sacrifice of thousands of freedom fighters. At the mid-night of August 14-15, 1947, the Union Jack, the symbol of British political power over India was lowered from the flag post and its place was taken by the Indian tricolour indicating the passage of India from bondage to freedom. As described above, Independence of India is a freedom for people of India from the bondage of the Britishers who lived for 200 years.

Independence is never a bondage, thus the mere existence of independence in society makes the world so much better place, imagine if you have restriction, you must be abide by it, It controls the human behaviour in a way for Example, a dictatorship rule, where you need to follow the orders and rules, thereby losing your right to freedom. India is the largest democracy in the world. The Constitution of India gives its citizens six rights known as the Fundamental Rights.

We have rights and we exercise them in the most appropriate way. But we are not totally independent as we do have variety of issues leading the country. We can be truly independent only when we are allowed to speak the truth out loud without fear. When we are slaves no more. Not to men, not to racism, not to cast, creed, culture. When we are free from prejudices and hypocrisy. When we can stand tall and take the responsibility of our actions. We are independent when we have broken the chains of society to uplift and enlighten the oppressed and suppressed of our times. When we know that our soul in not carrying the burdens of our mistakes, our dark secrets and our lies.
