India became free from the British on August 15, 1947. We celebrate out Independence Day at this day every year.
This day reminds us of the struggles of freedom fighters and lives sacrificed by them to bring freedom to India.
Today we are living in free India because of their sacrifices. Independence Day ceremony is organized at the Red Fort on this day. Our prime minister unfurls the National Flag here early in the morning. Lots of people celebrate this ceremony. This day is also celebrated in all schools, universities and educational institutions. The National Flag is unfurled by the chief guest and then the National Anthem is sung by everyone. Guest and students give speech on this occasion. Patriotic songs are sung by the students. Many cultural activities are arranged on this day sweets are distributed to everyone. This day inspires the younger generation to serve the country. Hence, Independence day, is important to keep the spirits of patriotism alive.
