My Country India

Today marks a special day,
In India's history we say,
The day we gained independence,
From British rule that made no sense.

Years of struggle, blood and tears,
Finally gave way to cheers,
As we stood up against colonialism,
And fought with all our patriotism.

Gandhi's non-violent approach,
Brought the oppressors to reproach,
As we united, strong and proud,
And spoke our minds, clear and loud.

It wasn't easy to break free,
But we persevered, oh so diligently,
And today we celebrate our nation,

With pride and joy, without hesitation.

So let's remember our brave ancestors,
Who fought for us, without any resters,
And let's pledge anew to keep our nation,
Free and strong forever, with determination.
