Expats rank Switzerland as best place to work; Kuwait ranks worst in GCC for expats

Saturday, September 24, 2016

In the latest Expat Explorer survey by HSBC, Switzerland climbed up five places from last year and ranked 5th out of 45 countries overall. The country ranked first among the most desirable destinations for expatriates when it comes to work and financial wellbeing.

Bahrain has been named the Middle East's top destination for expatriates, ahead of the UAE, according to HSBC’s Expat Explorer 2016 report. Bahrain was ranked ninth globally behind top performer Singapore, thanks in part to the relative ease with which expats are able to make new friends in the Gulf kingdom, HSBC said.

The survey ranked Kuwait as the last in GCC and 35th worldwide in terms of the best country for expat life according to the Expat Explorer survey issued by HSBC bank. According to the 2016 survey, Kuwait fell back one notch from 34 to 35 amongst 45 world countries.

Overall, the UAE was placed 12th, ahead of Oman (18th), Qatar (29th), Saudi Arabia (31st) and Kuwait (35th).

It is true because every time new Kuwait rules coming to expatriate to reduce benefits, facilities and Expatriate not getting service money, Leave salary, Air ticket money after end of service contract,In major public oil sector companies's Contracting company not giving take home salary,Leave salary, Accomodation,Medical leave, service money + other benefits as per international tender documents. Most of the expatriates struggling to get their rights as per Kuwait Gov.law from contracting companies for their family. But finally not getting their benefits, Struggling.........

If they really need more improvement they have to find ways to develop Tourism. It may generate huge revenue as well.
We all needed our family to visit us which should not limited to 1month & age. Hope Indian Embessey will also take a note to push easy & long term visit visas availability.

Though it says it is the worst place for expatriates. The following link says that Kuwait is one of the countries which is at top in terms of expats population.

Dear All, This is correct report because now a days rules making by govt. of Kuwait for expatriates to make only troubles instead of providing basic facilities to expat. Very poor system in the Kuwait.

We all cant go to Switzerland right? People who are less talented, not so smart, willing to suffer and have family burden have to work somewhere. Hence we have Kuwait.

I wonder how many countries were surveyed and on what basis.
In Kuwait its mainly the labour companies who are exploting the silent workers for which if only the government took a stronger stand I am sure Kuwait can be number one
