St. Daniel Camboni Catholic Parish, Abbasiya organized Mariotsavam2010, the 8th edition of the annual Marian Retreat in Malayalam, on 22nd Friday at Integrated Indian School Abbasiya.

This year’ s key note speaker was Rev. Fr. Sabu Adimakkil, director of Divine Retreat Center, Faridabad . The event started at 3.30 with Rossary, praise and worship and musical service. Msg. Rev. Fr. John Kallarackal (First Secretary - Apostolic Nunciature in Kuwait) inaugurated Matriotsavam 2010. Rev. Fr. Mathews Kunnel Purayidom OCD (Vicar General of Kuwait) and Rev. Fr. Albert S Raj OCD ( Vicar of Abbasiya Parish) felicitated the gathering. Along with the talks, the evening was made colorful with stage programs and group singing. Choir team consisted of 50 members filled the venue with a divine mood. Procession carrying the Statue of Mother Mary was the special attraction of the evening. A turn out of around 5000 was reported from various parishes of Kuwait. Rev. Fr. Joseph Palatty said the welcome speech and Rev. Fr. George Kottappuram delivered vote of thanks. The organizing committee comprising of around 150 volunteers worked hard under the leadership of General Convener Mr. Stephen Perera for several days to make the day a memorable one.
