Kuwait faces severe shortage of parking space

Kuwait is going to face severe shortage of parking space across the country, Union of Kuwait Real Estate Federation said. In a press conference, officials of Real Estate Federation said that there is a gap of over a million parking space in the country. this require around 40 million square meters of space and the investment required to bridge this gap is estimated at 7 billion dinars.

"The shortage of car parking space reached an alarming level and the government must take urgent steps to solve this problem. The delay in solving this crisis will contribute to the aggravation and will lead to paralyze the countries infrastructure", officials said.

Officials noted that 19 parking spaces were established during the period from 1990 to 2009 in various areas of Kuwait, however during the 2009 to 2018 period, only two buildings have been built.

Secretary-General of the Federation of Real Estate said that the government is required to upgrade and develop multi-role parking buildings on state land by involving the private sector in the development process. He stressed that the development of multi-role parking buildings can contribute to solving the problem of lack of parking in all areas.

My private sector company is building multi-role parking buildings on state land for ministry but it''s Blacklisted now. If many competent companies are blacklisted, Kuwait should worry still 20 year''s for parking spaces.

Mini mini work and Vaasta every where will lead to paralysis of any country.

Impose heavy fines on building owner''s who is using the basement of the building as warehouses instead of Parking space. Let higher authority people inspect he buildings on daily basis.
