ICSK Senior immersed in showers of blessings for Prayan 2019

The new academic session for classes X & XII commenced at the Indian Community School Kuwait (Senior) on Sunday, 28th February 2019 with a blessing ceremony held at the ICSK Senior school auditorium. The children were blessed by the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Lionel Braganza, Principal of Indian English Academy School, Kuwait and the ICSK fraternity. Senior Administrator and Principal- Dr. V. Binumon, Vice-Principal-Dr. Sam T. Kuruvila, Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Dy. Vice Principal, Academic Supervisors, Heads of Departments and Teachers who graced the occasion with their benign presence.

The grand function gleamed in showers of blessings from all the luminaries present. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Miss Madeeha Shakeel imploring the blessings of the divine. A melodious rendition of the prayer song by the members of the school choir, Swaranjali added a divine aura to the proceedings. To invoke a sense of patriotism, the august gathering rose up for National Anthems of Kuwait and India. The congregation was ardently welcomed by Dr. Sam T. Kuruvila, Vice Principal - ICSK Senior, who explained the meaning of ‘Prayan’, a new beginning. He detailed that 121 students from Class X and 238 students from Class XII will be appearing for CBSE Board examinations in 2019-20. He extolled the students to work hard and do their best. It was followed by lighting the lamp, emblematically denoting the journey from darkness to light by the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Lionel Braganza, Principal- Dr. V. Binumon, Vice-Principal-Dr. Sam T. Kuruvila, Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Dy. Vice Principal, Academic Supervisors, Heads of Departments.

The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Lionel Braganza, blessed the students and advised them to embark on the new academic year with renewed dynamism. He expounded that the teachers are the shepherds and students should follow the path shown by them as it will lead them to greener pastures. He blessed the students with a powerful prayer for a wonderful year ahead for academic excellence.

Dr. V. Binumon, through his address, instilled the spark of motivation in the receptive minds of the students by urging them to utilize 367 days ahead for their Board Examinations. He reminded the students on the importance of a good beginning in the new academic year by emphasizing on American educator, Stephen Covey’s book, ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’.

The Chief Guest was presented a memento as a token of appreciation by the Principal and the Vice Principal. Thereafter, the Principal and the Chief Guest handed over the attendance registers and class logs to the respective class teachers of Classes X and XII thereby symbolically entrusting them with the class charge. The personal log and time table were handed over to the subject teachers. An inspirational video was presented to motivate the students to set higher goals in life.

Academic Supervisors (Secondary)-Mrs. Saritha Nair & Mrs. Indira R., Academic Supervisor (Senior Secondary)- Mrs. Niva Elna, HOD (Chemistry)-Mrs. Shyna Ramesh and HOD (Psychology)- Dr. Navjot Kaur delivered inspirational speeches on the importance of maintaining a strong passion in one's selected subjects. Dy. Vice Principal-Mrs. Susan Rajesh delivered the vote of thanks. She thanked Fr. Lionel for giving the right pointer and words of blessings. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the School Management, Principal, Vice Principal, Prayan Team and teachers for their sincere support and efforts.
