We all are living in a world with people of different cultural and economical backgrounds. So it is a must for all countries to have a good relationship with each other and this bond can help them when they have any trouble. One good example is the bond between India and Kuwait.

Kuwait and India have friendly ties between them. India was among one of the first countries to recognize Kuwaiti independence and Kuwait was one among the first countries to help India during the war with China in 1962. 10-12% of India’s oil imports are from Kuwait. India is also one of the largest trade partners of Kuwait. Do you know that India and Kuwait used to trade goods before the discovery of oil in Kuwait?

According to the Indian embassy there are 80,00,000 Indians living in Kuwait as on 2015. There is a strong demand for Indian nurses in Kuwait and according to the Kuwait authorities the number of Indians in Kuwait may reach to one million in the near future. Out of 80,00,000 Indians 28,00,000 are domestic workers, this includes drivers, gardeners, cleaners, cooks and housemaids. There are more than 25 Indian schools in Kuwait.

There has been regular high level bilateral state visits between the two countries. On October 30, 2018 the External Affairs minister , Ms. Sushma Swaraj, visited Kuwait.

Kuwait and India relationship is not only about the economical ties, but also these two countries share their cultures and traditions. Every Indian living in Kuwait shows equal love and respect to both the nations and wants to express its love in some or the other way. Kuwait is like a second homeland to all Indians here. Kuwait not only has given us a platform to express our talents and live here peacefully, but also the people of Kuwait have shown their gratitude and love to us in many ways. I hope the Kuwait-India relationship will live long for ever and every Indian living in Kuwait will always have a smile in the heart .
