Oriental Cricket Club hosted “Oriental Unimoni Trophy-2018” in the form of a T10 Hard ball tennis cricket league for aspiring Cricketers in Kuwait under the tag name of enjoy the cricketing flavor. Total number of 24 teams participated in the two months longs league matches held in different grounds in Kuwait. With an overwhelming response from top playing cricket teams, 450 players registered through online scoring portal (https://cricclubs.com/OrientalTrophy) and 336 players played in the matches.
After the fierce competition and close results, Scorpions and Red & Black teams reached finals. Final match was held in Kings XI ground Abbassiya with beautiful ground arrangements on 4th Jan 2019. After winning the toss Red & Black decided to field first. Scorpions scored 91 Runs in 10 over for the loss of 9 wickets. In response, Red & Black could make 53 runs in 10 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Scorpions won by 38 Runs and grabbed Oriental Unimoni Trophy 2018
Being a title sponsor, Oriental Restaurant & confectionary proprietor Mr. Sathishschandra Shetty addressed the presentation ceremony and stated that Oriental as brand in Kuwait always encouraging sports personalities and continue to support young players in future also. Mr. Sathishschandra Shetty handed over Oriental Unimoni Trophy 2018 to Team Scorpions along with 300 KWD cash prize.
Mr. Ranjith Pillai, Marketing manager from Unimoni also present being joint title sponsor, appreciated the arrangements and interest taken by the oriental cricket club to arrange a beautiful tournament for the youngsters. Unimoni support for crickets will continue in the future. Mr. Pillai handed over Trophy & 150 KWD cash prize to runner up Red & Black.
Best Bowler of the tournament went to Mr. Seyyafi Rafi for his outstanding performance. Mr. Diju Sheeli Xavier declared as Best Batsman and Player of the tournament. Mr. Sandeep Patil judged as Man of the match of final match. All best players received Oriental Restaurant gift vouchers to enjoy the Oriental flavor.
