Civil Service Commission (CSC) has given the nod to exempt expatriate imams, preachers and muezzins from Kuwaitization, local daily reported quoting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Daoud Al-Assousi.
According to report, CSC stipulated that the number of imams, preachers and muezzins should be fixed, and that in the future, the appointment of expatriate imams, preachers and muezzins should be only in the following two cases, opening of new mosques and in case of shortage resulting from the end of service of any expatriates currently occupying the position of imams, preachers and muezzins.
